Armenicum against tuberculosis

February 3, 2011

Haik Avetisyan, who is a registered patient in the Abovyan city tuberculosis dispensary of the RA Ministry of Healthcare asked us to examine the results of an experiment done in 2005, which in fact had to be done by totally different institutions. According to him, after testing the Armenicum medicine 29 people with tuberculosis sickness have died. “In 2005, when the Armenicum had been just discovered, they had to do some experiments. At that time I was getting treatment at the tuberculosis dispensary. They tested the Armenicum on 30 people, 29 out of which died, and one of them stayed alive because managed to escape,” assures V.Avetisyan and adds that it was done by taking signatures from the patients. He says doctors have suggested him too but he refused. “I was there at that time. The patients subject to the experiment were guarded by people with guns and one could not see what was happening inside. It was not injection, it was a long procedure. Those 29 guys died,” he said. Kardashian has met with the prime-minister

December 4, 2010

Renown “With the Kardashians” reality show star Kim Kardashian’s fan site has posted a very interesting note. It turns out that many of her fans don’t know that she has Armenian roots. In her blog she spoke about her meeting with her root country’s prime-minister at a benevolent event organized by the Armenian Apostolic Church every year. She wrote: “Khloe, Rob and I went to meet the prime minister of Armenia! There was a charity event for the orphanages in Armenia and we went to support. We were taught how to greet the prime minister and also met Mark Geragos (he is a famous attorney who was friends with my dad)! Anything we can do to lend our support to our heritage we gladly do! We are dying to go to Armenia! Hopefully this year we will go! No one in my family has been back, and it’s really important to me that we go!” (http://www.kimkardashian.net/2009/01/kim-kardashian-meets-armenian-prime-minister/) Certainly she means the Armenian prime-minister Tigran...

Unique expression of love

April 10, 2007

It turns out that some of our compatriots quite uniquely express their love for different well-known people. In this case that expression is made through an act, which becomes clear when you look at this picture. This is what was left from the poster of the “3 million” magazine located on Tumanyan street. The poster shows (more correctly used to show) the third page of the magazine, where Sofi Mkheyan, Ruben Hayrapetyan, president of soccer federation, talk show host Nazeli Hovhannisyan, and Andre were displayed. Sofi Mkheyan was the first one to inform the magazine about what happened to the poster. A bit later incessant calls were received at the magazine’s office. People were saying, “you know, they cut the picture of Mkheyan from your poster…” Also, this unique expression of love is not a first precedent. Many others have suffered because of this act. ...

Luxurious and a means of transportation

Karapet TOMIKYAN | October 22, 2006

Currently, the most talked-about topic in Paris is the French Senate’s approval of the bill penalizing anyone who denies the Armenian Genocide and Turkey’s scandal. This was the “top headline” of French presses for a couple of days after the approval. Although the Year of Armenia in France has already kicked off, however not everyone knows about Armenian culture in Paris. Instead, the main event in Europe’s “capital city” was the “World Automobile Expo 2006”, which takes place two times a year. Based on the statistics of major international automobile-selling companies, 1,848,112 cars were sold in Europe in September of this year. The cars that were most sold were Ford, Fiat, Alfa-Romeo, Lancial, Volvo, Land Rover and Jaguar. This car expo kicked off on September 30 at the Port de Versaille sport complex in Paris and lasted until October 15 with over 400 companies from 26 countries around the world showing off their new model cars. The expo featured...

Princess Diana was Armenian too

Karapet TOMIKYAN | October 12, 2006

One of the recent publications of the French “JDE” (“Paper for children”, 12 pages) pictured weekly was issued on the topic of “Armenia - my friend”. The mentioned publication was totally dedicated to Armenia. “The Armenian year in France is a very good opportunity to have closer relations with Armenia, which history and culture are too rich”, writes the first page of the paper. The paper writes general information about Armenia, Yerevan, Ararat biblical mountain, Sevan, etc. The most interesting information in the paper concerns Karabakh. “It was a territory that was in Azerbaijan and populated mostly by Armenians. It served a reason for war between Armenia and Azerbaijan in 1991-1994. Armenia won the war and captured ¼ of the Azeri territory”. The paper dedicated separate pages to publications about Charles Aznavur, the Armenian Genocide, the Ararat mountain, French language in Armenia and community-level cooperation between France and Armenia....
